Civil / Welding Engineer / Gate Installer
Cambridge, Waikato
Watchu Security is one of New Zealand’s leading independent security companies. We offer end to end perimeter security along with intruder, access and surveillance solutions from systems design to installation and support.
With our Head office based in Cambridge, and branches in Auckland and Christchurch, Watchu Security offer a nationwide service.
We are currently looking for a Civil / Welding engineer / Gate installer based in our Cambridge workshop who is an all-rounder that can work independently and as a team player.
The successful candidate must be reliable & honest, have a great eye for detail and show pride in their work.
Polite and friendly to clients and staff is a must along with tidy work habits.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Gate manufacturing, Civil Preparation, Automation install, Servicing, Repairs and Installation of related accessories.
• Fabrication and welding of carbon steel and aluminium
• Installation of fabricated products at any given location as reasonably requested by the employer.
• Operation of company digger and associated accessories
• Maintaining high Health and Safety standards in line with the company H&S manual and policies.
• Repairs to various equipment
• Site measuring, interpretation of engineer/job drawings, and plans as required.
• Liaising with contractors on-site to ensure completion of project installation to standards required by the client.
• Servicing company equipment at regular intervals.
Skills and Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Concrete work / civil expertise
• Have basic written and verbal communication skills, mature outlook.
• A good level of physical fitness
• Current Clean Full Drivers License.
Salary & working hours:
This position is full time, with normal hours of work 7:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday (Be able to do extra hours during busy periods)
Competitive hourly pay rate depending upon experience with penal rates
