Chance meeting sparks beginning of Watchu Security
Watchu Security Founders and Directors Justin Fisher and Adrian Holmes first met at St Peter’s Cambridge in the early 90s, only to reunite while clearing their mailboxes.
“Before Watchu, I was importing and installing CCTV cameras after seeing how they were taking off around the world,” said Justin.
“I bumped into Adrian one day at the post office, and I knew he had a background in IT, so I asked him to give me hand with a job installing cameras,” said Justin.
Co-Founder and Director Adrian Holmes said, “Cameras were analogue back then and I could see there was going to be a shift in the market to digital IP cameras. This was exciting to me as a network engineer. It seemed like the perfect fit,” said Adrian.
The duo founded Watchu Security in July 2007. 15 years later, the pair say they’re both driven by the clients, the products, and the rapid changes in the technology industry.
“There are constantly huge jumps in technology and its reliability. There is unlimited potential in developing technology to solve daily issues– it’s very exciting.”
“It never ceases to amaze me – the applications we can create with this technology,” said Justin.
Adrian said the industry has seen a major shift towards perimeter and access security over the last ten years. “Businesses need full wraparound security, and with products and technologies constantly evolving, we look forward to continuing to help drive that.”
